Engaging learning environment

At the heart of our curriculum

As an academy, and across the trust, we appreciate the importance of investing in our campuses to ensure that they are engaging environments for learning, which are safe and nurturing for all our pupils and staff.

Here at Wrekin View, we have a vast range of facilities to support the learning for all our pupils. There are two nursery provisions, a specialist resource base for speech and language needs, two classes for each year group and a huge outside area to support learning.

Our campus is currently made up of:

  • 17 classrooms
  • 5 reading and study spaces
  • 1 Hall
  • 6 Outdoor spaces – early years foundation stage,
key stage 1, key stage 2 playgrounds, multi-use games area, forest school and field
  • 1 IT suite fully equipped for whole class use

We know that our pupils learn best when their environment reduces their cognitive load. At Wrekin View, the classrooms, corridors and outside spaces that are used for learning are calm and focussed on learning. We provide the necessary resources so that our children are successful and make good progress in all areas of their learning.

Our outdoor spaces are used for PE lessons, playtimes, Forest School, Bikeability and a range of curriculum subjects. They are large spaces where pupils can feel safe and have the space to express themselves, build relationships and practise skills
