Y4 Shrewsbury Prison Trip
May 1 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
To enhance our learning of Crime and Punishment this term, we have arranged an exciting educational visit to Shrewsbury Prison.
During our visit, the children will take part in the Education Behind Bars Programme, a unique and immersive learning experience designed to extend classroom learning. The programme is aligned with the national curriculum and engages students through thought‑provoking, interactive activities.
Shrewsbury Prison provides a range of comprehensive resources for pupils to ensure the impact of the visit continues long after the day itself. The programme consists of three core elements:
- Guided Tour – led by trained prison guides
- Educational Activity – curriculum-linked, interactive learning
- Self‑Guided Discovery – an opportunity for children to explore key areas with structured materials
What children need to bring:
- Children must come to school in full uniform.
- A waterproof coat should be worn or brought to school.
- A packed lunch will be required.
- If your child receives Free School Meals, a packed lunch will be provided.
- Children may also choose to order a school packed lunch. School lunches provided by Caterlink will include a sandwich, a cookie, a piece of fruit, and a bottle of water.
