Catering and school meals
Wrekin View is
Proud to be partnered with Caterlink for the provision of school meals
We are thrilled to have Caterlink onboard to supply our pupils with delicious and nutritious meals which our pupils are excited to eat. We have a rotating menu on a 3-week cycle which give our pupils enjoyment at lunch, each day there are at least two main options and a sandwich option – with ever growing choose for all palette and dietary needs. Pupils can choose their lunch option in the morning, so they are excited for lunchtime.
Lunch boxes
While we understand the convenience of home-packed lunches, we encourage pupils in reception, year 1, and year 2 to enjoy our hot school meals – alongside sandwiches available daily in the canteen and an expanded menu offering additional snacks and dietary support. If you still wish to bring home-packed lunch, we urge parents/carers to ensure that it is healthy and meets the recommendations for pupil’s diets, fizzy drinks and sweets are not allowed.
Free meals
Pupils in reception, year 1 and year 2 enjoy daily free meals at no charge for pupils in these year groups.
As a pupil enters year 3, parents/carers must apply, if eligible, for free meals through the local authority, although, we give all year 3 pupils free meals for the first two weeks of the autumn term to give parents/carers time to apply for free meals. Find our more information about free meals and apply online on the local authority website – click here
Paying for school meals
If a pupil in year 3 and above is not eligible for free meals, dinners are still great value at £2.45 per day. To enable pupils to access meals, parents need to make a payment using the ParentPay App, which details will be sent to parents up on a pupil enrolling. Parents/carers just need to navigate to the ‘pay for meals’ option and top up the account.
