I am currently serving my first term as a Co-opted Governor. Professionally, I am a senior financial crime professional with over 12 years of experience in financial crime risk management, regulatory compliance, governance, and oversight within the UK financial services sector.
Although this is my first formal governor role, I bring extensive governance experience through my professional responsibilities, which include contributing to governance forums, risk committees, industry working groups, and senior management discussions. Providing independent oversight, constructive challenge, and assurance is a core part of my day-to-day role, and I am pleased to apply these skills to school governance.
I became a Governor because I am passionate about education and the positive impact it can have on young people’s lives and future opportunities. I wanted to use my experience to support the school in achieving its objectives and delivering the best possible outcomes for pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community.
Having completed my own schooling in Pakistan before building my professional career in the UK, I bring a diverse perspective and a strong appreciation of the transformative role education can play in helping individuals reach their full potential. I believe governors play a vital role in providing both support and constructive challenge, helping schools to thrive and effectively serve their communities.
Outside of work, I am a father of two boys and enjoy travelling, watching films, hiking, and reading.
