On 25th September, our Year 6 children and staff hosted another fantastic Macmillan coffee morning, a much-loved Wrekin View tradition that our pupils look forward to every year. As one of the first community events of the school year, it provided a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together and set the tone for a year of kindness, teamwork and supporting others.
Throughout the morning, every class had the chance to attend, creating a real sense of community across the school. It was lovely to see children, staff, parents and carers enjoying time together while supporting such an important cause. The event reminded us of the strength of our school community and the difference we can make when we work together.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, carers and staff who generously donated cakes and refreshments. Your kindness and support helped to make the morning such a success.
Our Year 6 pupils were exceptional throughout the event. They took great pride in their roles, welcoming visitors, serving refreshments, handling sales and helping everything run smoothly. They demonstrated responsibility, confidence, maturity and excellent teamwork, and we were incredibly proud of the way they represented our school. Many of our younger children enjoyed seeing the Year 6 pupils taking on these important responsibilities and acting as positive role models.
The cause is one that is close to many of our hearts, and it was wonderful to see our school community come together to support the incredible work of Macmillan Cancer Support. Events such as these help children understand the importance of compassion, generosity and helping those facing difficult times.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we are delighted to announce that £470 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and supported the event. Together, we have made a meaningful contribution to a wonderful charity while enjoying a special morning as a school community.
Well done to our Year 6 children and all those who helped make this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning such a memorable success!
