I have been working at Wrekin View as a class teacher since September 2024, bringing 18 years of experience in teaching across a range of settings, including 4 years in secondary schools. My background includes teaching all ages from 6- 18 years, being a phase lead of both KS1 and KS2, being on the senior leadership team of a small independent primary school (in South Africa) and taking on a middle leadership role with subject leadership responsibilities. I am passionate about supporting student learning and fostering an inclusive, engaging educational environment for the whole school community.
This is my first role as a governor. I am keen to contribute my insight from working within the school to support strategic decision-making and school improvement.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, walking and running. I am committed to the school community and love being involved in initiatives that support both students and staff.
As a staff governor, my areas of responsibility are staff wellbeing and the early years foundation stage. I became a governor because I am passionate about ensuring that our school continues to provide the best possible education for all children. As a staff member, I have firsthand experience of the challenges and opportunities within the school, and I want to use this perspective to contribute to discussions and decisions that shape the future of our students and staff. I look forward to working collaboratively with the governing board to support the school’s vision and goals.
