Fiona Atherton

Headteacher

About

As the headteacher at Wrekin View Primary School and Nursery, I am delighted to have the opportunity to be part of the local school community. With 18 years of experience in primary education, including 15 years in leadership roles, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role as a governor.
Prior to joining Wrekin View, I served as a parent governor when my own children were in primary school, and I have been a school governor since 2016 in the schools where I have worked. In addition, I have been a co-opted governor for a primary school in Coventry since 2021, further enhancing my governance experience.
Outside of my professional life, I am a parent of two children and a godparent to four. I find great joy in spending time with my family and exploring new hobbies and interests. As the headteacher, I am committed to further developing the school’s leadership team and ensuring that every pupil at Wrekin View receives an exceptional educational experience.
My passion for education and my desire to help schools improve led me to become involved in school governance. I firmly believe that by working collaboratively with the school community, we can collectively drive progress and ensure that Wrekin View continues to thrive. I look forward to engaging with parents, staff, and pupils, and to playing an active role in the school’s continued success.
