Mrs Atherton is our Headteacher and the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing overall leadership for the academy and ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and supported. She also leads our Early Years Foundation Stage provision, helping to build strong foundations for our youngest learners. Mrs Atherton is also responsible for maintaining the high standards and outcomes across the academy, ensuring that teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes remain consistently strong. Mrs Atherton also oversees staff continuing professional development, making sure the team is well‑equipped to give the very best education and care. In addition, she leads on Early Help, working closely with families to offer timely support whenever it is needed most.
